R&D Engineer – MicroLED Materials

Our cutting-edge technology will enable future high-resolution, directly emissive displays for key applications such as smartphones, smartwatches, head-up displays, as well as within virtual, augmented, and mixed reality.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated R&D engineer to join our team and help in developing our microLED materials in the GaN/InGaN/AlGaN material system. In this position, you will be responsible for leading efforts on electro-optical characterization techniques and will hold a key position providing input for the materials and processing development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute electro-optical characterization techniques to analyze the LED structures, including electroluminescence and photoluminescence
- Analyze and interpret characterization results and provide recommendations to improve fabrication processes
- Collaborate with the team to optimize material and processing development efforts
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in the field of microLED materials and technologies
- Continuously learn and grow by exploring new ideas and approaches to advance the technology and improve the characterization methods
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of prior industrial or R&D experience with development of LED structures
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in the field of physics, material science, or nanotechnology, or another related field
- Deep knowledge of optical characterization techniques relating in particular to LEDs
- Experience with semiconductor device physics and fabrication processes
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Hands-on, proactive, and goal-oriented mindset
